FHDC's Executive Director selected to Achieving Excellence Program
Roberto Jimenez, Executive Director of Farmworker Housing Development Corporation (FHDC) was selected to participate in the NeighborWorks® Achieving Excellence in Community Development program in collaboration with Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
Roberto is one of 50 leaders selected nationally for this Achieving Excellence class - a prestigious and highly selective training program offered by NeighborWorks® America in collaboration with the Kennedy School of Government. A total of five Oregon community development leaders were selected.
According to Ken Wade, CEO of NeighborWorks® America, only the most experienced and sophisticated executive directors and senior level staff participate in this program. "The participants' selection is a testament to their exceptional skills and long-term commitment to improving our nation's communities and the lives of their residents," said Wade.
"I am proud to be a part of the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence in Community Development Program. This is an exciting opportunity for the affordable housing industry in Oregon and particularly for community development corporations, such as FHDC, that serve low-income Latino farmworker families," said Roberto Jimenez of FHDC.
Achieving Excellence is an 18-month educational program for senior leaders in community organizations that have a focus on affordable housing, community revitalization or community economic development.The program begins in the fall of 2010.
"Oregon's Latino communitiy will benefit greatly from the work these three leaders will embark on after their completion of the program," said Ramom Ramires of PCUN.
