We Build...

Attractive & Affordable Housing

FHDC is the only organization building affordable homes for farmworkers in the mid-Willamette Valley.  FHDC has purchased several acres of land in Woodburn contiguous to Nuevo Amanecer and plans to build at least 40 additional units there in the next few years. We are currently negotiating the purchase of land in Salem near the site of Colonia Libertad with plans to add at least another 40 units. By 2009, FHDC expects to manage at least 220 units of farmworker housing.

FHDC works with families to build a sense of unity and belonging to a distinctive community; to strengthen families through education and economic development programs, to instill a sense of pride, and to overcome a long history of prejudice and discrimination against farmworkers.

Strong Communities

Dedicated and Competent Leadership

FHDC provides the support that individuals need to become leaders in the farmworker community, to begin the process of building a future that once seemed unimaginable.
